How does the air transport of animals work?
It is a regulated process and involves a series of steps to ensure the animal's well-being and the flight's safety. TAP Air Cargo aims to provide the best possible conditions for each animal, regardless of type and size, ensuring minimum noise and disturbance.
Air transport of domestic animals
We consider ourselves an Airline that transports pets safely to most of the international and national destinations in our network. Animals are taken to the aircraft shortly before departure to avoid unnecessary stress and worry.
Below you can find the list of breeds and mixed breeds of dogs and cats whose transportation in the aircraft's hold is not allowed:
Exceptions:
- If a veterinary declaration is presented stating that the animal has undergone surgery to improve its condition, and / or does not present the characteristics of the breed;
- In the case of cross-breeds, a veterinary declaration must be presented stating that the animal does not have the characteristics of the original breeds.
