TAP Air Cargo has successfully transported two sea turtles between Dublin and Lisbon, in an operation that once again highlights the airline’s expertise in handling special cargo and live animal transportation.
Molly and Frankie, originating from the Dingle Oceanworld Aquarium in Ireland, were transported to Porto d’Abrigo, Zoomarine’s marine wildlife rehabilitation centre in the Algarve, Portugal.
Carried out in close coordination with Zoomarine, the operation required meticulous planning and strict adherence to animal welfare standards, ensuring appropriate conditions throughout the journey. Due to the specific characteristics of each animal, tailored transport solutions were implemented, demonstrating TAP Air Cargo’s operational flexibility and expertise.
This mission supports an important biodiversity conservation project, helping prepare the animals for their eventual return to their natural habitat. Through this initiative, TAP Air Cargo reinforces its commitment to managing complex and demanding operations, providing specialized transport solutions for cargo requiring the highest levels of care, safety and reliability.
